FAQs

Can I book a reservation without authentication?

Authenication is required to confirm a booking and is not a deposit. We will not charge the card unless booking terms are broken. If you do not authenticate we will resell your table if necessary and our wait list beckons.

What is your cancellation policy?

Our booking conditions can be found HERE. If you can no longer make your reservation, you can always transfer your reservation to another person too.

Do you accommodate dietary restrictions?

We are a meat and fish focused restaurant and do our best to use local, high welfare produce and wild, foraged ingredients. Our tasting menus are set and do feature meat, fish and shellfish – albeit are balanced with vegetarian dishes too. We want you to try everything while you are here. We do not alter them or offer alternative dishes. The following ingredients are used throughout our menus and cannot be omitted, they are in most dishes somewhere: dairy, soy, gluten, nuts, honey, sesame, onion, chilli and garlic. We also use all allergens in the kitchen at present. We can offer vegetarian or pescatarian tasting menus but only if we are made aware upon making your booking and in good time.

If you require further information please contact us directly before making a booking.

Do you allow children at the restaurant?

We like to keep the dining room area for adults, but we do have our snug and old bar areas. In these areas we do not have a minimum age policy as all children are different – any child is welcome to eat if they can eat the menu as it is!  We do not have a childrens menu. Please make sure you stipulate how many children are coming in addition to the adults.

Do you have a dress code?

No, you can wear anything that you feel comfortable in!

What if I have a George voucher?

Please let us know upon making your booking you intend to use a voucher.

Do you allow dogs?

We allow well behaved dogs in the old bar Thursday to Saturday lunchtimes. We do not allow dogs in the evenings. Because dogs are not permitted in the snug or dining room please do make sure to pop a note on your booking or contact us directly to check availability. We have limited tables in the bar area and would hate to disappoint.

What time should I arrive?

We ask you to arrive 15 minutes before your table so we can get you seated – please let us know if you are running a little late. One of the team will meet you on arrival and take you through the menu, wine options and get you some pre dinner drinks!

Is there parking?

There are 3 small free (donations welcomed) public carparks in Alstonefield all within walking distance of The George. There is also on road parking by the green opposite, but please make sure you dont block the road or entrances.  Farmers need access at all times, as do our residents!

Where can I find your booking conditions?

You can see them HERE and upon booking there is also a link with a checkbox which you will need to tick to complete your booking.
