The Coach House Bar

Restored to its original simplicity with lime plastered walls and farmhouse furniture.  Candlelight and fresh flowers add a touch of elegance.

Settle in…

Our Coach House bar – a relaxed space to kick off muddy boots after a long walk with the dog and enjoy a drink, a snack and unwind.

It’s an unhurried place, where everyone knows everyone else (or soon will). Summer sees ramblers cram the benches out front, out back and time passes slowly. Come winter, its a cosy space with big tables, woolly blankets and some classic old school games to while away an hour or two.

Weekend lunch is served in the Coach House Bar, please book online or call for enquiries and reservations – note we are aiming to be open in future every Friday & Saturday evening too. Please make sure to stipulate your preference for the Coach House upon booking.

The Coach House is open for Sunday Lunch, offering a traditional roast.

Please note well behaved dogs kept on leads are allowed in the Coach House Bar.

The Bar area can also be hired exclusively for smaller events, get togethers or as an extension to the main Coach House rooms upstairs.

If you want to experience our award winning food over in The George dining rooms please BOOK HERE

The area offers the option to host reception drinks, and in the summer opens out to seating under our enormous Ash tree – idyllic.

Swifts come back to their nest boxes every year, and their regular evening returns are a sight to behold.

The Coach house sits next to The George kitchen garden where we grow our own produce to supply our Chefs. The chickens go about their daily pursuit to find the best worms, foraging amongst the wild flowers, and life slows to a satisfactorily serene pace.

Please call us to make a reservation or complete the enquiry form below, we will confirm your booking by return email or a telephone call.

Remember, if you are seeking a booking for the same day it is advisable to call if you cannot find a suitable slot online

Things to note...

We love dogs but we do respect that not everyone does, and because we often get super busy and are tight on space we restrict well behaved dogs joining us to lunchtime – in our bar area. These tables fill up quickly, so you must let us know to avoid disapointment. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times and tucked up under the tables.

We also allow well behaved dogs on leads (we have free range chickens) in our Coach House Bar where we serve Sunday lunch, and of course in warmer months, we also have plenty of space outside.

We do not allow dogs in our dining room and snug (assistance dogs accepted) or during evening service.

Dietary Restrictions: We cannot cater for food dislikes. We aim to provide for most dietary requirements if we are aware in advance. Please let us know of any strict allergies or intolerances when you make your booking. Failure to make us aware of dietary restrictions may cause limited options to be available.

Whilst we follow best practice at all times, we would like to highlight that all the dishes we serve are produced in an environment where allergens are also prepared and cooked. Therefore we are unable to guarantee that the environment will be completely allergen free.
